Re: Acquisiton of a commodity at fixed price - derivative?
Thanks for the info. So, if i understood correctly the IFRS, since company A will use the commodity in its normal operations, there are 2 options: - not applly IFRS 9 and continue to record this operation as a spot acquistion in 2024 / 2025 (example); - apply IFRS 9 and record a MTM but if it decide...

Re: Costs of open a new facility
So, for example, if you have a (internal) team already in the new facility managing the construction / renewal and implementing the plans for the facility construction / machines implementation, you consider this as attributable costs or as these "costs of open a facility"? Because i do no...

Costs of open a new facility
Hello all. A quick question: IAS 16 refers that costs of open a new facility are not attributable direct costs and therefore can not be capitalized. However, do not provide examples of this opening costs. For example, for open a new facility, if a company have to purchase some equipment or construct...

Re: Goodwill amortization & deferred taxes
So to be clear, you have a standalone company which has goodwill in it's own books? How did that arise, did it acquire some trade and assets as a business? And in your country, for tax purposes you get an allowable deduction against tax for goodwill? Which country is that? Hello, yes, that is the c...

Re: Goodwill amortization & deferred taxes
So, yes, there should be recognized deferred taxes correct?
I read that but stay with some doubts even
Because, at least for me, it is the first time i get this situation.
Regards.
Artur.

Re: Goodwill amortization & deferred taxes
No deferred taxes at the creation of the GW because it is assumed that the GW is not taxable accepted and because it is impossible to estimate (it will be as circule).
But in this case is taxable accepted even the depreciations. The problem are the amortizations and to the GW for the Group.

Goodwill amortization & deferred taxes
Hello all. I have a question, sorry is it already been answered in a previous topic. Example: Company A has a Goodwill and it is allowed to be amortized over 10 years from a tax perspective. For a Group level, Goodwill is not amortized and for group accounts the amortizations are reversed. The group...

Re: Inventory Sale and repurchase...de-recognition?
Hello. @itwentup50 thanks for the additional slides. Regarding the "substantially all of the remaining benefits from the asset" i still believe they are transfered and are on SupplyME side. If we take a look at the risk model, we can see that all the market, unsold and operationl risks are...

Re: Inventory Sale and repurchase...de-recognition?
I think the control is transfered (according to some assumptions, because i think unfortunatly we do not have all the info). As was said, "Control of an asset refers to the ability to direct the use of, and obtain substantially all of the remaining benefits from, the asset". If we think th...

Re: Inventory Sale and repurchase...de-recognition?
Hi I checked the company web and it is good idea. If i understood correctly, the investors buy the goods, receive a fee /coupon and then when the company sell the goods cancels the cuopon and pay to the investor. My only concern is the transfer of property. As i see it, i think it is on the investor...

Re: IFRS16-Lease
Maybe @HaDo is referring to subsquente events?
I believe if that is the case, the lease is not disclosure, unless off course it affects the business continuity.
It is a different story the Covid 19, that is an event that could affect significatly the operations and finance.
Regards.

One additional question: some countries, such as Brazil, allows the subsidiary to pay an interests to parent company related with share capital (in simple terms). Re: Anticipated dividends
Ok, i see you point.
But in the standards i was not able to find what is the treatment for this; is like as grey area.
Yes, our corporate law allows this kind of distributions. And i know some other countries that also allows, for example Brazil.

Re: Anticipated dividends
For example, you will distribute dividends in 2020 regarding the net income of 2020. Normally, at least here in Portugal, the distribution is made after the year is closed, and therefore the bookings in the company that distribute are in equity (as a decrease of retained earnings). Now, for example,...

Anticipated dividends
Hello.
One question: how do you recognize antecipated dividends to paid to an Holding?
As equity or profit and loss?
For example, company A will pay to company B (Holding) an antecipated dividend of 1,000m.
Is recognized as equity of profit and loss?
Regards.
Artur.

There is /was also a project very interesting from my point of view: the headroom aproach. Impairment analysis for Investment in Subsidiaries
Hello all. Company A is a parent holding and held several investments (subsidiaries) in the BS. At a consolidated level, the CGUs are analyzed at a region level and only 3 regions were identified. Therfore, all the impairment analysis in the consolidation is made under these 3 regions. The question ...
