Dumb question

Post by Leo »

Hi everyone,

Might I ask a very stupid question. When consulting IFRS, what's IFRSXX : B XX and IFRS XX : BC XXX please?

For example, I've read several times IFRS15 : B16 and I don't know what the B stands for and where I can look for it and why do we have B and BC ?

Sorry again for this amateur question.

Thank you

BC is Basis for Conclusions - an underlying document which explains why they arrived at a certain paragraph. 'Premium product'

B is the supporting text within the standard, but which is just not the core text. Known as 'Application Guidance'. You can get this free with a basic IFRS subscription.
