Please let me ask another question :
If the goodwill is included in the CGU tested for impairement. At the end of the year the recoverable amount of CGU is 1000, goodwill has a carrying amount of 600 and intagibles assets have a carrying amount of 600, which one did you impair first ? and what would be the impairment amount in total ?
Thanks
Impairment of non financial assets - allocation
Re: Impairment of non financial assets
When you measure the cash flows of the CGU you arrive at one figure for the full CGU comprised of all assets (because they generate cash flows together, otherwise there would be a smaller CGU), not split by asset. then you always impair goodwill first.
Re: Impairment of non financial assets
Thank you JRSB, so 200 for the goodwill right ?
