Subsequent Goodwill Measurement

Post by Yasaswi Gomes »

Hi,

The subsequent measurement of Goodwill, ‘Cost-accumulated impairment’, what does ‘cost’ stand for?
Is it the cost of investment?
Is it the Goodwill intangible asset value on SOFP?
How do you calculate the ‘cost’?

Txs.

@ Marek Muc

Thank you. That is what I thought (existing Goodwill-impairment). Any additional Goodwill recognition through new acquisitions, that newest part of Goodwill treatment will be as per initial recognition+subsequent measurement of existing Goodwill and again going back to subsequent measurement for the whole of it until it is nil.
