All - hope you are doing great!

Co-founder of a startup aiming at supporting accountants with client interactions and data management leveraging AI. Still in early days, we're keen to understand the key pain points accountants face daily around this topic - to basically build a solution around it for you.

We're dedicated to this project, and would love to talk with anyone interested in this area. Looking forward to potentially being of help!

Automating the disclosure checklist could be a place to start. The idea is to upload drafted financial statements, and the tool automatically highlights any missing disclosures. This could be particularly beneficial for audit firms. For reference, here is what a typical checklist looks like in a standard PDF format:

Have you shipped any tool so far? Tell us more about your professional background if you don't mind.

Thanks for your input Marek! Interesting idea of automating the disclosure checklist and will look into it, along with what others in the field are doing.

To give more context, we started 4 months ago, built an early MVP that extracts automatically key info (complaints, follows up needed ect) and metrics (response time..) from client emails for accounting firm owners/partners. Our team consists of a tech person (ex-Google) and a business person (with audit/IB experience).

Really appreciate your help again. Would love to discuss this further on a call and get your insights / views on it!

Automating the disclosure checklist would undoubtedly be a more challenging task, yet as the saying goes, who dares wins ;)

there are programmes to instantly check all totals and note references etc so an AI-driven disclosure check must be very doable, it could highlight the main judgements it has applied and so on. someone can build it but can it be protected from copycats, that's the question.
