IFRS5

Post by Leo »

Hi guys,

We have a subsidiary that we would like to sell and the auditors ask us to classified it as IFRS5. By the way, all criteria are met.

Is the application of IFRS5 mandatory ? If the management didn't want to, is that possible to not do it?

THank you.

There's quite a lot of judgement in there - you're not in a position to dispute that the sale is 'highly probable?

As JRSB said, you need to manoeuvre within IFRS 5. The classification as held for sale, or discontinued operation, are mandatory once the criteria are met.
